About the Smokeyard

The Smokeyard is a classic bar-b-cue joint that began life in June 2016. We advocate a bar-b-cue culture that represents a culmination of the best of all great bar-b-cue techniques and flavors picked up over the years of continuous product research to create something uniquely our own. The Smokeyard is a friendly, unpretentious place where although meat is king, the sides are also given as much thought, effort, and love.

Our menu is simple and focused. We specialize in authentic smoked meats, prepared in the classic Southern technique of smoking at low temperatures over a long period of time, using a combination of 100% fruit and hardwoods. We serve all traditional bar-b-cue cuts, as well as non-traditional meats and specials.

We also offer a wide selection of traditional sides and desserts, and classic drinks such as fresh lemonade and fresh brewed Southern sweet tea.

Sauces, rubs, and merchandise are also available for sale on site. We are also available for catering and events.

Since opening, The Smokeyard has been featured in Southern Living, Rogue, Appetite Magazine, Preview Magazine, Town and Country, Sassy Manila, Chow Buzz, When In Manila, CNN Food Guide, Explorer4Manila, Table for Three, GMA’s POP Talk, and Taste Buddies, and ABS-CBN’s ShopTalk.

In classic bar-b-cue style, we offer walk-up service to our counter on a first-come, first served basis until we sell out of that day’s offerings. Reservations are recommended for large groups and customers may also place an order ahead of time for discounted wholesale meats to take home for parties/events.

About the Pitmaster

The Smokeyard was an idea hatched by Brooklyn-based founder, pitmaster and bar-b-cue aficionado Troy Conine, who wanted to bring his favorite USA comfort food to the Philippines, and share this with others who are also longing for a little taste of home.

Troy successfully formalized his barbecue training under the guidance of “The Legend”, Mike Mills of 17th Street BBQ (Mike Mills is a four-time World Champion and a three-time Grand World Champion at Memphis in May and who is the author of several bar-b-cue books and a bar-b-cue hall of famer.
